All About Me

My name is Samantha Allison, I was raised in Greenwood BC. I absolutely loved growing up in my small community. I have two fur babies of my own. Bindi is a 4-year-old energetic Red Merle Australian Shepherd.  Then there is Kona. My beautiful 9-year-old, Havanese crossed Pug (a Hava-pug) who is food obsessed. 

Growing up, I was always surrounded by animals. While most teenagers were taking babysitting jobs, I was taking dog sitting jobs. In my late teenage years I started farm-sitting, this is where I had the chance to work with dogs working on the farms and so my love for dogs continued to grow.  In my 20's I spent time bouncing between Merritt and Greenwood, the two places I loved the most.  In 2019 I started working at Pet Valu in Merritt BC. Through them I received my Pet Expert Certificate, specializing in dogs. I also personally worked with dogs that were difficult with nail trimming and started realized how important this was, the need for helping these dogs was in very high demand.
I also worked with a lot with dogs with allergies, weight problems, dietary issues.
I took additional training on different foods, and products whenever the chance arose, building my knowledge base.
I am well educated in most brands of foods including the raw food diet. 
With my experience working there I began to see another need; groomers were in high demand.
This would begin the next chapter in learning about dogs and continue with my love for them.

I was accepted into Western Dog Grooming School.  There I received a hands-on education along with an in-depth education on more than just haircuts. This school taught the importance of being educated on how to care for the different styles of coats, the different skin conditions, parasites and proper de-matting techniques.

 I received my PIJAC Canine Specialist Certificate, as well as my PIJAC (now known as Pets Canada) Dog Talk Attestation Certificate.  Through Western Dog Grooming School, I completed my 12-week practicum. Received my Professional Grooming Career Diploma from WDGS. Also receiving my WDGS Canine First Aid Certificate. I am now working towards my CPPS certificates to become a master groomer.
